As my site has been linked by puzzlecat, MSN search engine regularly crawl this site, but M$ sucks and its search engine is just a crap. I decided to put my site into google by submitting the sitemap to it.
- Upload the GoogleSiteMap.php to my site (downloaded locally from here)
- Turn on SEO on joomla site.
- Test the site map for google. make sure the link works and SEO is ok.
- Login to google Sitemap with my gmail account and submit.
- Verify my site. If we encounter error “404 status with 200 header”, add “ErrorDocument 404 /wp” to the .htaccess file in portal folder.
- Now everything should be ok.
Just wait for a few days to see my site is searchable in google. 
A few points to note:
- that as there are search engine regularly crawl my site, the number of “visitors” in statistics module is NOT correct any more, but at the admin end we can still get a rough understanding by checking its browser type. Ususally the browser type of a search robot is “unknown”.
- I checked the GoogleSiteMap.php program and confirmed it only submit links that has public access. To be more secure, I updated the permission for my articles.
