Tips on managing and understanding people

  1. Try to avoid communication (email/phone etc) when you are in anger
  2. Do not fire people simply because he can not perform as to your standard.
  3. Every one of your subordinates has its strength
  4. Most of time when a team member can not perform not because he is not capable, but because he has been placed in the wrong function.
  5. When a supervisor identifies a problem, try talk with your people frankly. Try to hear from them why the problem exists and what’s their suggestion to improve. Improvement is suggested, not requested.
  6. You need more of your team than your team needs you.
