"Xserve Monitor" component:
As I too busy these days, the administrative work for new G5 machine
has been passed to Aaron. Considering I might be moving soon, it should
be good to start shifting responsibilities step by step. Even
eventually I decieded not to move, get someone to help me on
administrative work is also nice for me. These days really a lot of
things to handle.

"Xserve Monitor" component:
The temperature, fan, power section in previous xservemonitor component
versions does not work with G5 machine. G5 has more than 30 sensors and
controls for G5 and they have different XML schema for that.
Challenging work.
With the four new G5 machines, Server monitor can not get any
information from them, The error message is "can not contact server".
The user name and password have been double checked. The most strange
thing is all machines are not able to be monitored (probably they are
cloned).
Leon lent us four Xserve G5 for testing purpose. The agreement is TLL
offers racks, power, networking and maintaning resources for these
Xserve G5, in exchange to use them for free. Besides of that, we are
also going to use this as a testbed for bioinformatics solution in
Apple’s platform.
The four machines came with some problems. There is no graphic card
even for the head node. Although it is able to install all these Xserve
headless, but all our CDroms can not boot the new Xserve G5 (bug?) and
have to use orignal operating system on harddisk. This caused quite a
lot configuration problems as we are not sure of the original
configuration that comes from hard disk.
Anyway, here is my notes on how to make it finally works.

I am studying my insurance plans and found quite a few that are
duplicated. I have three hospitalization plan, one from TLL, two from
my own purchases. That’s really surprising to me as hospitalization
wont be double paid anyway. The other two have to be suspended.
